FAQ

General Information

How does Tadah work?

Without childcare: You can simply walk into our coworking space in Zurich Albisrieden and work without your child.

With childcare: If you want to come with your child, we ask that you book childcare in advance. For last-minute bookings (less than seven days before the booking date), we charge a late fee of CHF 10 (half-day) or CHF 20 (full-day).

Can I also work from somewhere else while my child is being cared for at Tadah?

While your child is lovingly and professionally cared for, you can work in the coworking space two floors above. In exceptional cases, you can work remotely for up to 5 hours.

If you don’t want to work in the Tadah coworking space, we recommend the Tadah playgroup – from 08:00 to 13:00 including lunch or from 13:00 to 16:30 including snack.

Can I cowork at Tadah without my child?

Definitely.

Do I need to reserve a spot in the coworking space in advance?

No. Only childcare needs to be booked in advance.

Costs and Products

What types of subscriptions are available?

We are extremely flexible and therefore don’t offer subscriptions. You can either pay ad-hoc for a half-day or full-day (Drop-In half-day or Drop-In full-day), or you can buy a 5- or 10-visit pass – with or without childcare. Only those who want to cowork in a team at Tadah can buy a subscription – the price varies depending on the number of team members. More information on our team offers can be found here

How much does the Tadah coworking space with childcare cost?

You can find an overview of our prices here.

Since children under 18 months require more intensive care, we charge a baby surcharge of CHF 4/hour (flat CHF 20 for half-day and CHF 40 for full-day).

Can I divide my coworking days flexibly?

You can use the days of your 5- or 10-visit pass flexibly. You can even split them into half days. For example, you can come one Tuesday afternoon, and the next week on Wednesday morning. You must use the credits within three months of purchasing the 5- or 10-visit pass.

How can I use a half-day drop-in?

With a half-day pass, you can work with us for five hours. You can start working whenever you like – for example, from 08:00 to 13:00 or from 10:00 to 15:00. Important: Your drop-in pass expires at the end of the day, even if you haven’t fully used it.

How can I use a full-day drop-in?

With a full-day pass, you can work with us for up to ten hours. Important: Your pass expires at the end of the day, even if you haven’t fully used it.

Costs for Last-Minute Childcare Bookings?

We need to price our flexibility. This means: For a last-minute booking (less than seven days before the start of care), we charge an additional fee of CHF 10 (half-day) or CHF 20 (full-day).
Definition of the 7-day rule: The day the booking starts is not included. Example:

  • Booking start: Friday, January 10
  • Last day for the regular price: Friday, January 3
  • From Saturday, January 4, the last-minute surcharge will be applied.

Do I have to pay for childcare if my child or I are sick or we cannot keep our booking for other reasons?

Yes. Bookings can be canceled for free up to one month in advance. For example, if you have a booking on August 15, you must cancel it by July 15 (the same date of the previous month or earlier). Cancellations and booking changes made less than one month before the start of childcare will incur the full charge – including the baby surcharge, last-minute fees, and coworking.

How do I pay?

We ask all our customers to register a credit card in the booking system.

Childcare

Is Tadah a licensed daycare center?

No. Since the parent works under the same roof (but not in the same room), we are not required to have official daycare certification. However, we can separate the child and parent for a maximum of five hours per day. This means parents can attend a meeting with a client or take the child to the playground.
This is the only difference from a regular daycare center. Our Kids Space works based on an pedagogical concept, and our staff is professionally trained. We are also in constant communication with the daycare authorities, which are part of the social department of the city of Zurich.

Who benefits from the Tadah coworking space with childcare?

Parents who:

  • Need flexible and high-quality childcare.
  • Are looking for fixed childcare with more flexibility than conventional daycare centers.
  • Have no family care options.
  • Need to unexpectedly work one or more additional days.
  • Are self-employed.
  • Are looking for better work-life balance.

Or mothers who:

  • Want to return to work after three months but still want to breastfeed.

Additionally, companies that:

  • Are looking for affordable office space – whether as a startup or a small team.
  • Need additional, flexible spots for their employees.
  • Want to position themselves in terms of work-life balance and offer their employees a flexible childcare solution.

How do we guarantee optimal flexibility and stability for the children?

Our trained professionals ensure stability – the staff is permanently employed, and the children know their caregivers, and vice versa. We also design the program and the Kids Space environment to provide a constant for the children.
Experience shows that while flexibility is important to parents, they still rely on fixed points in the daily routine with young children. This means that nearly all our customers regularly bring their children to the Kids Space, allowing them to be in a familiar environment.

Can my child see me while I am working?

No, the Kids Space and the coworking space are on different floors.

How old must my child be to be cared for in the Tadah Kids Space?

Children from three months to school age are cared for at the Tadah Kids Space.
